...the empire of Terre de Conte was in ruin: crime rose, crops failed, trade declined, and a slave system was put into practice as many noble families fell to destruction. This all changed when the Emperor Meander became enamored of the Lady Ivory and took her as his bride. Their child, the Princess Anactoria Sapphis, swore to rule only with a woman at her side, never a man. After inviting women from across the world (from nobles and princesses of neighboring countries and honorable knights to the lowest maids), the Princess chose her bride. Their rule was prosperous but after it ended, Terre de Conte once again saw ruin and despair.

...with Princess Anactoria's descendant, Anactoria IV. The empire once again reached a period of prosperity under the Emperor Galeron and his queen, Alexis. On his daughter's eighteenth birthday, the emperor beseeched his daughter - and sole heir - to seek a husband. Reminiscent of her namesake, Anactoria ran away, swearing to rule only with a bride by her side. After a time, the Emperor was forced to consent and invitations were sent to eligible maidens across the world. Just as they had one century before, women the world over gathered in the City of Venus in hopes of winning the princess's heart.
